North Country Quilters & Sew ‘n Vac is thrilled to announce a collection of classes in November that will allow you to experience the world of longarm quilting. All this from the comfort and safety of your own home! If you have ever wondered whether a longarm machine is right for you, or if you’ve recently purchased one and would like to expand your skills, these classes are perfect for you. You’ll learn tips and tricks of the trade that professionals use, and you’ll expand your repertoire of creative quilting techniques. Classes are live and limited to 12 students. Students will be able to interact with the instructor and other students via Zoom.


Longarm Bag Of Tricks. Friday November 5th: 10:00am – 12:00pm

Class Description: You’ve got your longarm…now what? Come check out all the great accessories, tools and feet that are available to help you finish spectacular quilts. You’ll get a chance to try out all these great tools which will help you finish more projects in less time. Come and find your new favorite accessory!

Topics include:
· Design, audition, and application tools
· Quilt-loading and frame accessories
· Handi Feet options
· Channel locks and straight line options
· Rulers and templates


Rounded Corners and Curved Lines. Friday November 5th: 1:00pm – 3:00pm

Class Description: Ready to add a little curve to your quilts? Curved rulers are the answer! Using the markings on the curved rulers, we’ll line up perfect rows of circles, stitch meandering waves, and create perfect curved crosshatching. We’ll play with the full line of curved rulers, stitching up swags, clam shells, ovals, arcs and circles galore.

Topics Include:
· Master mini-circle, half-circle, and full circle rulers
· Play with wave, arc, and clamshell rulers
· Fitting curves inside geometric shapes
· Curved crosshatching tips and tricks
· Other ways to make all those curves


It Ain’t All Cotton and Batting. Saturday November 6th: 10:00am – 12:00pm

Class Description: Have you even wanted to break away from your quilting cotton and really see what your longarm can do? You can piece, quilt on unique fabric, bind your quilts and lots of other great time saving techniques on your longarm. Find out what your longarm can really do and get ready to get more projects done.

Topics Include:
· Cut away applique and “slap-lique” techniques
· Embellishing and couching
· Binding your quilts on the frame
· Projects from beginning to end
· Lots of great tips and tricks for your longarm


Quilting the Straight and Narrow. Saturday November 6th: 1:00pm – 3:00pm

Class Description: Love piecing modern quilts but afraid to quilt the straight lines? We’ll explore everything from matchstick quilting to great all over designs using the humble straight lines. Rulers and channel locks give you precise straight lines every time, even when quilting designs that look complex like crosshatching. We’ll demystify the techniques of quilting on the straight and narrow!

Topics Include:
· Straight line ruler tips and tricks
· Different type of channel locks
· Conquering crosshatching
· Straight line border designs
· Building basic designs from straight lines
